Kalyan Chintaman Patankar Born in a small village Arawali at Dist Ratnagiri State Maharastra in orthodox Brahmin family on 21st December 1907.
In the year 1930 he shifted to Belgaum. Initially he started working in Shop owned by Murkumbi at Market. In the year 1940 he started his own shop at Market Belgaum trading in Dry Fruits and kirana goods. In the year 1942 He got the distributorship of Sathey Biscuits of Puna a well known Biscuits Manufacturer of India and has achieved highest sale in north karnataka for nearly 30 years.
Taking in a consideration that the pickles and spices prepared By his better half Laxmibai Patankar at home was appreciated by all the neighbors, relatives and family friends he planned in the year 1942 to manufacture Pickles, Spices, and Chutney in very small scale (100Kg) and marketed specially during marriage season and he was very well supported by Shri Nanasaheb Sathe the M D of Sathye Biscutis and friends of K. C. Patankar in the Market. In the Year 1958 K.C.Patankar and sons acquired a FPO license. Till today in India very few old licensees are remained. In the year 1965 his Son Narhari ( Bapu) nephew Shankar (Bandu) join hands with him and then in the year 1970 Madhukar, Sudhakar,and Kashinath joined the establishment and then the production was reached to 50 -70 tons.
K.C. Patankar and Sons are the pioneers in the manufacturers of the Pickle, Masala and chutney in Karnataka.
In the year 1980 K.C. Patankar passed away left behind all his good will and principals for the successors of the Patankar Pickles. With his blessings the business keeps on growing.
From year 1991 Milind a representative of third generation and followed by him Rohan joined hands.
Today total yearly production of the Pickle, Masala, Chutney, Papad, Sandage,etc. and other products reached to more than tons
Specialty of the Products of the Patankar Pickles is that the generations has changed but the taste and the quality of the products has not changed
